Hello from Canada!
We are a week into our adventure! We have already made so many memories and have become like a family. The trip started out rainy and cold, but we put our foul weather gear to good use, and the sun finally came out. The water here is warmer than camp! The wind has been great so far for sailing- we have been hauling tuckus through the Strait of Georgia going 11 knots. We have explored some small ports along the way and had dinner at a Mexican restaurant on Pender Island, then we set off for the star of the show… Princess Louisa Inlet! We had a scenic 8-hour sailing where we learned how to chart our coordinates on a real paper chart. When we got to Princess Louisa we did a very steep hike that was super muddy and difficult, but we made it to upper waterfall, which was so worth it. Unfortunately, lots of cuts and bruises from playing in the waterfalls. Then that evening the park ranger gave us some firewood, and we baked a cake for Philip’s birthday and ate cake and sang camp songs around the fire.
