Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How old do I have to be to be a staff member?
A. To be a counselor, we require that you are at least 18 years of age, and have completed one year of college, or equivalent experience. If you're 17 or 18, you may be interested in our leadership training program. We have a few positions available for those under 18.
Q. This sounds like a fun, easy summer job!
A. Being a counselor or specialist is an incredible amount of fun, very rewarding, and will give you a lifetime of good memories. That being said, many people find the work much more challanging than anticipated! You're essentially "on-duty" 24-hours a day, 6 days a week, and you'll definitely be working hard to keep everything going smoothly. The good news is...everyone else works hard too, and you'll find that your effort will be appreciated and rewarded by our staff and the hundreds of kids you work with.
Q. Do I get time off work during the week?
A. All staff members receive one full, 24-hour day off every 6 days, plus alternating activity periods off (in camp).
